Speculative Fiction & Poetry

STRANGE HORIZONS

My poem “The Possession of the Farmer’s Son” is in Strange Horizons! This amazing speculative fiction magazine has been around since 2000. Their poetry and fiction are so cool, and I’m blown away by the authors I’ve been published with.

Idemili is an incredible poem: “A wildness folds beneath my child’s head, | it turns and it layers, gently.” Definitely go read it (three times in a row).

And I just finished Light Years From Home by Mike Chen, which Divyansha Sehgal gives a great review on: “Though there are intergalactic stakes, they feel secondary to the main action of the book, which is a family trying, and often failing, to understand each other.”

I can’t wait to read more today!

Goran Lowie’s Roundup!

Goran Lowie created an extraordinary roundup of his favorite speculative poetry published mainly in March and April of 2023. This list spans 16 magazines and includes 30 poems, with “Possession of the Farmer’s Son” among them! One of my personal favorites from the list was Hayley Stone’s chilling “How to Prepare a Mermaid’s Voice for Serving.”

Lisa M. Bradley’s Poem of the Week!

Lisa M. Bradley wrote an incredible critical analysis of my poem. I’m so touched by the care that went into her reading. Lisa is a talented spec fiction author and editor pub’d in Strange Horizons, Uncanny Magazine (whew, check out Aboard the Transport Tesoro), and PodCastle.
